A State-of-the-Art Experience

Princeton Theatre & Community Center is a non-profit community theatre located in Princeton, Indiana. Our desire is to provide quality entertainment and promote a love for the performing arts in the local community.

The theatre company, Broadway Players, was formed in 2003 to allow Princeton to utilize available talent in the area. In 2013, the company was awarded a portion of a Stellar Grant to purchase, renovate, and restore a local theatre that had been closed and left vacant. The new Princeton Theatre opened to the public for a production of "Gypsy" in 2015.

Presently, our theatre features state-of-the-art facilities in the Hadley Auditorium and has a dedicated team of actors, directors, and designers who work tirelessly to bring our productions to life. Join as a patron or consider volunteering for an unforgettable theatre experience!

You or your company name could be featured here! There is a sponsorship level available for all budgets, so we encourage everyone to browse our Sponsorships page.

Looking for a place to host an event? From baby showers to hosting your band's next gig, we have options available for you! Visit our Rentals page for more information with NEW reduced rates for 2024!

About The Show

“This one-man show is at once warm, thought-provoking, and inspiring. I cannot recommend this play strongly enough. It is a timeless story for all ages, a pure joy to see, and a story and performance you will remember long after the curtain falls.”

Show Details:  When Alonzo Fields accepted a job as a butler at the White House in 1931, his plan was to work there for the winter. That winter lasted 21 years. Based on the real-life story of the grandson of a freed slave who grew up in an all-black town in southern Indiana, Fields is forced by the Depression to give up his dreams of becoming an opera singer and accept the job at the White House where he quickly was appointed Chief Butler. Looking Over the President’s Shoulder is told from the unique perspective of the Chief Butler who served four U.S. presidents and their families.
